Frequently Asked Questions
Our comprehensive FAQ guide below answers questions about keeping your vehicle reliable, maintaining your new car warranty, or navigating high-voltage EV battery maintenance. If you don’t see answers to your specific questions, reach out to Shane at our Caloundra West workshop for upfront advice.
Do you service all EV brands or only Tesla?
Yes, we service and repair all major electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) makes and models. While we regularly manage Tesla models, Shane Murty holds advanced certifications under the Australian National Training Framework (including AURSS00064 and AURSS00037) to safely diagnose and maintain vehicles from manufacturers like BYD, GWM, Kia, Hyundai, MG, Nissan, and Toyota.
How long does an EV battery diagnostic check or replacement take?
A comprehensive digital EV battery State of Health (SOH) diagnostic check takes approximately 1 to 2 hours. If a complete high-voltage battery module pack replacement is required, the turnaround time typically ranges from 1 to 2 days depending on parts availability. We always perform rigorous isolation testing and provide a complete transparent breakdown of the timeline before any work begins.
Do you offer mobile EV or hybrid roadside servicing?
No, we do not provide mobile vehicle servicing. We did provide this in the past, however, we now have a clean, specialised static workspace that allows us to complete complex high-voltage diagnostics, isolation interlock testing, and regenerative braking calibrations. This new workshop is on Exeter Way, Caloundra West and is custom-outfitted with the advanced diagnostic arrays and safety equipment. Book in for service now.
Whatβs your warranty on EV and mechanical repairs?
At Murty’s, all automotive repairs, diagnostic assemblies, and component installations come with a comprehensive statutory workmanship warranty. To guarantee total peace of mind for you and your family on the road, we utilise premium, industry-certified parts and strict manufacturer-compliant specifications. Contact Shane to discuss specific component duration parameters for your vehicle type.
General Servicing & Warranty FAQs
Will servicing my car at an independent workshop void my new car manufacturer warranty?
